Word Axis
Overview
Word Axis is a 3D word puzzle game developed by Hermitage Studios LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and what choices you have. Word Axis stores your gameplay progress on your device. Data leaves your device only for: serving ads (Google AdMob), processing in-app purchases (Apple), fetching the daily puzzle pointer (Firebase), and scheduling local reminder notifications. We do not operate a user-account system and we do not ask for personal information.
Information We Collect
Gameplay data (stored locally on your device)
Word Axis saves your solved-puzzle history, star ratings, best times, current streak, theme and pack unlock state, token balance, and settings using on-device storage. This data never leaves your device. Deleting the app removes it entirely.
Daily puzzle pointer (Firebase / Google Cloud Firestore)
Each calendar day, the app reads a single small document from Firebase Firestore to determine which puzzle is today's daily. The document contains only the puzzle ID for that date and is cached locally so the app makes at most one such read per device per day. This request does not include your name, account, contacts, or device identifier; Firebase logs technical request metadata (such as IP address and timestamp) as part of normal service operation, governed by Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
In-app purchases (Apple StoreKit)
Word Axis offers a one-time “Remove Ads” purchase. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We receive a receipt that lets the app unlock the purchased feature; we do not see your name, email, payment method, or any other Apple ID information. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy at apple.com/privacy.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Until you purchase Remove Ads, Word Axis displays interstitial and rewarded ads served by Google AdMob. Google uses standard advertising signals — such as general device type, ad interaction data, and Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) when granted — to serve and measure ads. On first launch the app shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, the IDFA is not shared and ads remain available but become contextual only. Ad attribution uses Apple's SKAdNetwork framework regardless of your choice. For more on how Google handles ad data, see Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Consent (EEA and UK users)
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, Google's User Messaging Platform will ask for your consent before serving personalized ads, as required by applicable privacy law. Your consent choice is stored and can be changed at any time through the app.
Local reminder notifications
If you grant notification permission, Word Axis schedules local reminders for the daily puzzle and streak protection. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device by iOS — no notification content is sent through a server, and we do not collect a push token. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
Information you send us
If you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence in order to respond to you. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal information through the app itself.
How We Use Your Information
- To run the game and save your progress, streaks, and unlocks between sessions.
- To deliver today's daily puzzle by reading a single pointer document from Firebase.
- To process the Remove Ads in-app purchase through Apple StoreKit.
- To display ads through Google AdMob until Remove Ads is purchased.
- To comply with ad consent requirements in regulated regions.
- To deliver local reminder notifications you have opted into.
- To respond to support requests or questions you send us directly.
We do not sell your data, build marketing profiles, or use your information for any purpose beyond operating the game.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Data is shared only as described above: with Apple via StoreKit (to process purchases), with Google via Firebase (for the daily puzzle pointer) and AdMob (for ad serving), and with Apple's local notification system (to schedule reminders on your device). Each is governed by its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Data Retention and Deletion
Because Word Axis does not collect personal data, there is nothing on our end tied to your identity to delete.
- Local gameplay data — deleted automatically when you delete the app from your device.
- Daily-puzzle pointer reads — managed by Google. Firebase request metadata is retained per Google's policies.
- Purchase records — managed by Apple. See your purchase history in the App Store.
- Ad data — managed by Google. See Google's privacy controls at myaccount.google.com.
- Support emails — the only information we hold directly. Email us at the address below and we will delete the correspondence within 30 days.
Children
Word Axis is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Security
Gameplay data is stored locally on your device and protected by iOS device security. Network requests to Firebase use HTTPS. We apply reasonable measures to protect any information we hold directly, such as support correspondence. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this responsibility seriously.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted with a revised effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change is posted means you accept the updated policy.
